Here's an example of the usage fitting definition for a rafter:

If the labour usage is applied to a bar of 11700mm, the following fittings are applied:
Fitting |
Quantity |
Explanation |
RAFENDPLT |
2 |
A bar with a length of 11700mm falls within the up to 15000mm limit specified on the first line. 2 x RAFENDPLT fittings are applied. |
CLEAT |
2 |
A bar with a length of 11700mm falls outside of the up to 10000mm limit on the first CLEAT line. This line does not, therefore, apply. The bar falls within the up to 15000mm limit required by the second CLEAT line. 1 x CLEAT fitting is applied per 5000mm available. For a 11700mm bar, this means that 2 x CLEAT fittings are applied. |

Once you have applied a labour usage with attached usage fittings to an item, if you then edit the length of the Item, the fittings' quantities are not automatically recalculated. You must click the Fittings tab on the Estimate Steel Item form and edit the quantities manually. |
