Use this form to specify the nesting details for the workstation. These fields are similar to those defined on the Autocut Settings form during Preliminary nesting and Ordering. You may specify different values in the two places; the order of precedence is:
§ If you nest before you generate work orders, the values from the Autocut Settings form are used.
§ If you generate work orders before you nest, the values from the Production Workstation - Nesting Details form are used. The below image shows the nesting settings in the Workstation on the left, and the Autocut Settings in Nesting and Ordering on the right, verifying this is the case when these two functions are used in this order.

|
If you generate work orders before you nest, you cannot nest items together that are set to go to different workstations. The example below shows the message that was generated when attempting to nest two different sizes of plate, that were associated with two different production templates. The message indicates that the nesting engine can process only the items associated with one workstation and not the other. If you attempt to do this, the top row of items will be selected to be nested.
If you nest and then generate work orders, you can send the work orders to different workstations. |
