You can use items from an estimate take off as Prelim Marks in a Prelim Listing. This topic tells you how to populate the grid on the Contract Prelim Listing Details form by importing items from an Estimate.
1. Open a Prelim Listing.
(See Find and edit a prelim listing.)
The Contract Prelim Listing
form is displayed.
2. Click Actions (button) >
Import Estimate Listing.
The Estimate Import form is displayed.

3. Select an Estimate from the drop-down list and use the Import Fittings check box to specify whether you want to include the fittings from the original Estimate in the import.
4. Select a phase and a list with which to associate the imported Prelim Marks. These are mandatory fields. Lists can be used as a further sorting option within the Prelim.
5. If you need to make a new list, use the Ellipsis button to create a new record. This will open the List Edit for where Lists within the Prelim can be maintained. This can also be accessed via the Actions button. As Prelim marks are assigned to lists in the Prelim the totals for weight and area will increase to reflect the sum of these Marks.

6. Finally, use the Auto Marking field to specify how you want to identify the Prelim Marks; by assigning characters, assigning numbers or leave this set as off to use the Mark's native naming convention.
7. Click OK.

Revision control of Estimate items in the Prelim cannot be established by importing the same Estimate again. Unlike revising a prelim from the wizard, if an Estimate item is added again, this will result in duplications of items in the Prelim. To make adjustments, double click a record and amend values in the item window. |
