Labour Usage - Usage Fittings

As part of the drive to automate the production of an estimate, you can assign fittings (from the fitting library) to labour usages. These fittings are then calculated and applied when a labour usage is selected for a steel section. You can also assign fitting groups to labour usages. Fittings, like processes, can be applied at specified intervals to make the application more precise. For example, on a rafter you may apply one cleat per 1200mm.

For the usage fittings to be applied on loading a labour usage, the Apply Fittings option on the Estimate - Details tab must be set to Yes.

The Usage Fittings grid is best explained by taking an example. Read the descriptions in the table below, then see Labour Usage Fittings example.

The columns on the Usage Fittings form are described in the following table.

Column

Description

Fitting Item Type

Select either Fitting or Fitting Group from the drop-down list.

Line Item

Specify the fitting or fitting group to add to the labour usage.

You must have previously set up fittings and fitting groups. See Create a fitting and Create a fitting group.

Quantity

Enter a quantity.

This is the number of fittings required per size interval.

Unit

Enter a unit.

This is the measurement by which the size intervals will be created. The options available are: Length, Width, Depth, Weight, Area, Cross Sectional Area, Perimeter, Flange Thickness and Web Thickness.

Size Interval

Enter a size interval.

This is the interval at which (at each occurrence) the specified quantity of the fitting will be added.

Up To Size

Enter a size.

This is the upper limit for this computation. If the dimensions of the fitting exceed this limit, then the line will be ignored.

Notes

When you have populated the fields, the Notes field displays a written summary of the fitting application. For example, For each 1200mm up to a Length of 25000mm add a quantity of 1.
