Item Batch Update General

This form allows you to batch update the details and properties of multiple items in the item library search grid. To access Batch Update, select the items you wish to update, then go to Actions> Batch Update to open the Batch Update form.

Description

Item Group

For reporting purposes, you can group items together by assigning them to a group. Select a group from the drop-down list or click the ellipsis button to create a group. If you hold this item in inventory, you can search the inventory by item group. You can also search the item library by item group.

Item Class

For reporting purposes, you can group items together by assigning them to a class. Select a class from the drop-down list or click the ellipsis button to create a class. If you hold this item in inventory, you can search the inventory by item class. You can also search the item library by class.

Cost Code

Select a Cost Code from the drop-down list.

Waste/Scrap Cost Code

Select a Cost Code for the waste from the drop-down list.

Default Inventory Unit

Remove

The default price unit at which this item is stored in inventory. Select the Remove check box if you want the Default Inventory Unit on the Item Properties form to be blank.

Effective Date

The date from which this item is available.

Expiry Date

The date on which this item becomes redundant, and therefore unavailable.

Inventory Tracking

Select an option from the drop-down list to specify whether you want to track inventory through the system.

Tracking Number - Mask

The mask used for tracking numbers.

Update Scrap Length

Select this check box to make the Scrap Length field available if you wish to manually update the scrap length for a list of specified items.

Scrap Length

Specify the length at which a bar is scrapped when cutting. The value that you enter here can be overridden using Production Cutting.

Minimum Quantity

Specify the level of inventory at which an item should be reordered.

Procurement

Select an option from the drop-down list. The options are:

§               AutoCut
You can process the item using nesting and ordering.

§               Manual Cut
You must manually nest the item.

§               Order to Size
Only items of the specified size will be ordered.

§               Ignore for Procurement
If you have a mechanism outside of STRUMIS for purchasing an item, select this check box. During the nesting and ordering process, any prelim marks or mark items to be fabricated from the item will have a status of Covered, meaning that no materials need to be purchased.

Only Selected Rows

Select Only Selected Rows to update only the items that you highlighted. If you do not select this check box, all items will be updated.

Production Settings

Description

Create production Work Order

If you select this check box, when this item is used to fabricate a contract mark item, a production work order is created for the mark item.

Automatically issue inventory to production (Backflush)

When this item is used to fabricate a mark item, the mark item has a parent bar. If you select this check box, the parent bar is removed from inventory when the contract mark item is Production Cut.

Display individual instances when nesting (Note - option only affects Inventory material)

If you select this check box, the way in which inventory items are displayed in the Nesting and Ordering Wizard is affected. Individual instances are always displayed despite local settings in the wizard.
