Production Template - Processes

Use this form to specify the production processes that are applied when this production template is used to generate work orders. You can list any number of production processes in each template.

If you intend to use a template and you are aware that an additional process will be needed, it can be applied independently in the Generate Contract Work Orders Wizard.

If you are aware that there will be a set process sequence that will be used a lot, utilising a series of prebuilt templates will be less time consuming than adding processes in each time you generate the Contract Work Orders.

The form is divided into two grids: the process list and the process/workstation time calculations. These are described in more detail below.

Process list

To add a process, either click or press the down-arrow in the Process column and select a process as shown below.

The other columns are automatically populated (see below) and the Process/Workstation Time Calculations grid is populated with one of the following:

§               For processes that do not require a workstation, the default location specified on the Production Process - Details form can be overridden. You can select a new location from the drop down menu under Location in the Process Timing Details column. See Locations for further information.

§               For processes that do require a workstation, the default workstation for the process which has been specified on the Production Process - Details form cannot be adjusted. the option under Location in the Process Timing Details column is not able to be selected. If the location needs to be changed it must be adjusted in the Production Process- Details form.

Column

Description

Process Number

This is the order in which the processes are carried out. For example, the processes for a mark item might be Cutting, Coping, Drilling.

Process

Select a production process.

Requires Workstation

Indicates whether the production process needs a workstation. This is set up on the Production Process - Details form and cannot be changed here.

Stage

Displays the production stage with which the process is associated on the Production Process - Details form. It cannot be changed here.

Process or workstation time calculations

When you select a process in the Process List above, the related location or workstation that is specified on the Production Process - Details form is listed here. You can add other locations or workstations and you can add projected timings for the selected process when it is carried out at the location or workstation.

To change a location:

Click the down-arrow in the Location column and select a location as shown below.

To add or change a workstation:

Click the down-arrow in the Workstation column and select a workstation as shown below.

To add projected timings:

If you are looking to move between processes when you are working on the specifics needed for this template remember to select a process using the blue boxes to the left of each  record. This will select a process in the table at the top and populate the relevant details in the bottom table.
