
The following instructions tell you how to add a steel or non-steel item to the item library.

Use the search options to make sure the item is not already in the system. See Find and edit an item if you need help with this. |
1. Go to Items & Inventory >
Item.
A list of items is displayed.
2. Click New.
The Item form is displayed.

It has the following tabs:
§ Details
Enter all the details about the new item, such as the name and dimensions
(for a steel item).

§ Item
Properties
Enter general information about the item such as scrap length and settings
that are used in both production and inventory.

§ Purchasing
Information
List the suppliers for the item and specify the steel lengths (for steel
items) that are available along with cost prices. You can also specify
who your default supplier for this item will be.

§ Selling
Information
Specify any selling information that is used for particular customers.

§ Cross
References
List alternative names for the item. These are used, for example, in the
following situation. You set up an item in the item library. You then
import a preliminary listing that contains the item but with another name.
If the other name is specified here on the Cross
References tab, the item is still recognised by the import process.

§ Labour
Usages
Specify labour usages for the item. These are used for Estimating.

§ Custom
Fields

3. Fill in the information as required in the various tabs
and click Save.
