Search the inventory

Use the following instructions to search the inventory.

1.            Go to Items &Inventory > Inventory.
The Inventory Search screen is displayed.

Type your search criteria into the fields at the top of the page.
On the General tab, you can elect to search the whole Inventory, or only steel items, non-steel items or marks. The option that you select affects the format of the Name field. You can search for items at a particular Facility or location and if you have a specified yard reference that was added on the Purchase Order receipt, this can also be included in the search terms. For example, the following search returns steel items with section code UB, size 254x10x22 and grade S355JR that could be located in any facility.

On the Allocation tab, you can narrow the search by Contract and phase/zone. The available phase/zone will change depending on the Contract selected.

On the Advanced tab, you can narrow the search by classification, tracking number, item group, item class, parts at site and/or in production or a range of section lengths.

2.            Click Search.
Records matching your search criteria are listed. You can now select a line and carry out a variety of actions, as shown in the next step.

3.            Select one or more lines and click the Actions button.

§               If you leave the search fields blank, all records for the module are listed.

§               Click Clear to reset the search criteria.

§               Search criteria are not case sensitive.

§              Max Rows will need to be set to the maximum scope to display all records by setting this to "0". Be cautious as this may take a while to load.

§               You can use the following characters in the search fields:

*
Use the asterisk as a wildcard. If, for example, you wanted to show every member with a grade of –S275, type in *-S275. Every record in the module that ends with -S275 is displayed.

_
Use an underscore to represent any character; for example, _275 lists all records in the module with four characters that end with 275.

%

Use a percent sign to match any character that occurs multiple consecutive times. For example, C%per* would find both Cooper Steel Construction and Caper Fabrication Ltd.

[ ]
Use square brackets to denote a character range; for example, *U[B-C]* lists all UB codes and UC codes.

Filters

On the Inventory Search form there are a number of smart filters that indicate the material designation. How the stock in Inventory is handled in STRUMIS will denote which tab the material will appear in. This is effected by transactions, allocations and item status changes.
